
| Vincent Chandler is a Performance Artist and Teacher. His plays are often based on the real-life accounts of others. Utilizing first-person narrative, interviews, oral histories, and other primary source materials Vincent conceives, writes, and performs pieces designed to create a dialogue about personal responsibility and public awareness of the problems that individuals and communities face today. Born and raised in East LA, he relocated to San Francisco, CA in 1999 and earned a BA in Communication Studies with a concentration in Performance Studies from San Francisco State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. In 2004 he was selected a National Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar for his academic and volunteer work with marginalized youth. Vincent began his professional career in independent film
with Star Maps, directed by Miguel Arteta, and in the HBO Film
If These Walls Could Talk, directed by Cher. He supplemented
his early artistic experience by working with Planned Parenthood Los Angeles
for over five years as an HIV/AIDS Pre-Post Test Counselor and Medical
Assistant. |
