“When pushed, provoked, inspired or spirited, I speak
in story. I tend to believe that who we are and how we make
sense of the world comes from the stories that we tell and
retell one another. We inform one another, we persuade one
another, and we construct one another - for better and for
worse. To that extent, I try to listen to everything all the
time. No matter where I am, or who I’m with, or what
I’m going through, I listen. I listen to, and collect,
stories. Overheard, gathered, gleaned, and given to me. Some,
maybe even my own. And sometimes, I share what I find. Perhaps
in the retelling of these stories, in the interpretation of
them, I may learn something new about you…something
new about me.”
